Garfield Video Project

At Advoque we like to have fun, so on June 19 for National Garfield The Cat Day, we decided to create our very own Garfield cardboard cut out to commemorate the occasion, as well as create a video short documenting the process.

Garfield is a fictional character and the title protagonist of a comic strip of the same name created by Jim Davis. Fun fact: Garfield holds the Guinness World Record for being the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip.

The process of creating the video short was simple: first we start with a rough pencil sketch, that was then scanned and delivered to our computer. There the artwork was refined and colorized. The next step was to print the art on vinyl and adhere it to a cardboard sheet that was then cut and ready to be displayed.

Our goal was to make a fun lighthearted video that was simple to film – we used an iPhone set on a handheld gimbal and edited in Adobe After Effects.
